A Message from Our Founder On COVID-19

Covid-19

Dear AECP supporters and friends,

With the recent developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it has undoubtedly been a trying time for nearly everyone around the world. As always, the health and safety of our community comes first and the Armenian EyeCare Project is taking the appropriate measures to protect the well-being of our beneficiaries, staff and friends.

In an abundance of caution, we have, for the time being, suspended operation of our Mobile Eye Hospital and Regional Eye Clinics in Armenia as well as reduced staff presence in our administrative offices both in Armenia and the U.S. These precautions, in conjunction with global social distancing and “safer at home” efforts, are in the interest of everyone’s safety and to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19 as best we can.

Still, we do continue to have expenses in Armenia and need the financial support of our donors and friends now more than ever. Though we do understand that times are tough for many right now, if you are in the position to give, it would make an extraordinary impact in helping our organization – which provides essential eye care services and aids in eliminating preventable blindness in Armenia – to work through these challenging times.

We will continue to monitor any and all developments with COVID-19 and put the highest priority in protecting our community. Our thoughts are with everyone in Armenia, the U.S. and the greater globe. To our dear friends and supporters, please do all that is in your power to stay safe and healthy during this time.

Sincerely,

Roger V. Ohanesian, MD
