Update From The Founder on COVID-19

Dear Friends,

As we watch the COVID-19 pandemic continue to sweep around the globe, we are reminded daily that this is a time of incredible complexity for everyone. The wide breadth of the COVID-19 impact includes devastating secondary effects on the lives of many families, especially in developing countries. Many governments worldwide are struggling to meet the challenges presented by the COVID-19, including Armenia.

Despite all the uncertainty, we see real signs that Armenia is rising to the challenge by starting to allow critical sectors of the economy to reopen and various services to resume. The Armenian EyeCare Project is also determined to continue providing essential eye care to the people of Armenia even in these trying times. As always, the health and safety of our community comes first and we are working on developing new ways to be effective and efficient while protecting the well-being of our beneficiaries, doctors, nurses, staff and their families.

As we plan to resume operations of the Mobile Eye Hospital in the near future, we need your help to procure personal protective equipment and essential medical supplies that are critical for ensuring continued eye care services in Armenia under the COVID-19 restrictions. We are hopeful that despite the difficult financial environment, together we are able to find the resources to provide this immediate and much needed response. If you are in the position to give, we ask that you make a donation today to help.

Acknowledging the important mission of the Armenian EyeCare Project and our 4-star rating by the Charity Navigator, our partners at We Mail For You publishing house have kindly donated the printing and mailing of this letter, enabling us to direct all donations in full towards the current needs in Armenia. We are deeply touched and grateful for everyone’s generous support and commitment to help us bring sight to Armenian eyes even during these challenging times!
