Matthew Wade, MD

Dr. Matthew Wade is a board-certified eye surgeon at UCI Health. He specializes in complex cataract surgery, cornea disease and transplantation, and LASIK vision correction.

Wade earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., where he also completed the National Institutes of Health Clinical Research Training Program. He completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Utah School of Medicine, followed by a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery and external disease at the UCI School of Medicine’s Department of Ophthalmology.

Wade is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the Orange County Society of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society and the Orange County Medical Association. He is frequently invited to speak at conferences locally and nationally. He has participated in AECP’s annual Medical Missions as a volunteer physician for several years.
