“Can You See Me Now?”

FOLLOWING YEARS OF PLANNING the Mobile Eye Hospital (MEH), traveling by boat, reached its destination in Yerevan on Nov. 7, 2002. An amazing piece of equipment the MEH travels throughout Armenia to remote villages delivering eye care to nearly 50,000 people each year. It is a fully functional surgical suite on wheels. Its statistics are impressive, weighing just a little under 14 tons, the MEH is 48 feet long, 13 feet wide. Supplied with the latest eye care equipment, within its 408 square feet are two examination rooms, each 7 feet by 8 feet, and an 8 foot by 20 foot operating room.
